Baby Gus is 3 months old today. I can't believe how fast it goes.

Weekend
It was a pretty nice weekend around here. Friday night we had Will's family over for dinner because Aunt Jennie, baby Leigh and Aunt Jackie were all in town. I made chicken spaghetti again and it was a hit. That stuff is pretty addicting. Audrey had so much fun playing with baby Leigh. She's walking now!
Then once everyone left, we walked over to the Balloon Glow in Forest Park. We had never been before, and it was really cool. Audrey's favorite balloon was the Werhenberg theater giant bag of popcorn balloon. We walked around for a while and saw as many balloons as we could. We were so close we could feel the heat when they lit up the balloons. But we had our huge stroller so negotiating the crowd was a bit of a problem. Unfortunately there was no way to walk that far with both kids without it.
Tonight I made Sunday dinner. I made beef stroganoff and the most delicious pumpkin spice muffins for dessert (I skipped the frosting because I was origionally going to make them for lunch, but they were still a great dessert w/out it). Oh my goodness were they good. I really do make lots of different recipes, not just ones from Pioneer Woman. But her recipes are always our favorites so I haven't bothered posting about any of the other recipes. Anyway, with the holidays coming up, I highly recommend these muffins.

First day of school
I'm a little bit late posting this. Will's been working a lot lately and I've been too tired to blog in the evenings.
This was Audrey's first week of pre-school. She is loving it so far. Here are some pics of her first day.

Random stuff
I was going to call this picture "yikes, stripes." That's what Will said when he saw it. But lets face it, that doesn't really convey the true spirit of this outfit (which I wish I could blame on the 3 year old, but let's face it, she doesn't dress her brother). I mean this outfit is a truely frighting combo of stripes and colors. Yikes doesn't cut it. Why did I do this to my child? And why am I posting pics of it? Because he is so handsome, he can pull it off.
(this seems like the appropriate response to being dressed like this)
Here's my handsome boy in a nicer outfit. This is his sweater that Nana knit for him. It was actually cool enough over the weekend for him to wear it.
And here's big sissy cuddling with Aunt Sam after she got her haircut. Now she's all cleaned up for pre-school. She starts next week!

Mid-week update
This beautiful guy decided our stained glass was a great place to hang out. He was there all day on Tuesday.
Monday was a cloudy day around here. We all slept in and hung around all day. Audrey's new pre-school teachers stopped by to introduce themselves and show Audrey pictures of her classroom. They both seemed nice and Audrey is so excited to start school on the 13th!
Tuesday we headed out to the Science Center. Here's Audrey using (and sometimes misusing) a lot of sciency stuff.
And here's what Gus thought about the dinosaur noises coming from the lower level. "They're going to get us Mama!"
After naps (and after I had already cooked dinner) we went to El Maguey with Grandma and Grandpa O.
Wednesday was another quiet day. Not much happened. But we did get to eat the dinner I made Tuesday night. Oh my goodness was it good. I made this recipe chicken spaghetti. It was creamy and rich, time consuming to make, and probably horribly unhealthy but so delicious. I can't wait to have it again tonight!

Weekend
It was a typical weekend around here. We ran errands and hung out with some of our neighbors. I made a ton of food including my friend Beverly's cream cheese brownies. Those things are to die for. I also made muffins that taste like donuts. That's what the recipe's called; I didn't think they actually tasted like donuts. But they were pretty darn good. Baby weight? What's that? Oh yeah, it's what I'll be hanging on to for a while if I keep baking.
In other news, Will and I went out to a local bar for some nightlife on Saturday. We partied all the way 'till 10:30. Then instead of coming home and going straight to bed, we watched a little bit of an SNL rerun. Party animals. Is it sad that I'm completely exhausted today?
Well, as usual I forgot to bring my camera to pretty much everything we did. But here is a pic of my little man crush.
And here is Audrey being a fairy princess

Day 2 and I'm remembering to blog :) Yesterday was a bit crazy. We had a morning playdate, a mid-day doctors appointment and an evening playdate. I was so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open by 9:30. It's a glamorous life.
This morning I had to get up at the crack of dawn because I had an early meeting with a judge (don't worry, I was just networking). Gus slept until 5am, but unfortunately Will decided to wake me up at 2:30 to ask me what time Gus usually gets up. Why he needed to know this, I really can't say. He doesn't get up with him anyway, probably why he doesn't know he usually gets up at 3. My 2 month old wanted me to have a good night's sleep, but not my dear old hubby. What was my point? I have no idea - maybe it's that I'm a little tired. What else is new.
My meeting was short but helpful and now I'm home. Newbie is asleep and Audrey's still at Pop-Pop's house. Sweet, sweet silence. Love it! So I have a minute so share a few pics.

And here's what I found when I went to get Gus for our doctor's appointment yesterday. Now normally when I find the cat in any of the baby's beds, I freak out and launch her out the window (okay not really), but this was so incredibly cute, I couldn't resist snapping a pic before I sent Lydia into orbit (again, just kidding).

Here are the kidlets

And here's Audrey nursing her baby doll, Cora
(we like to nurse our babies together)

Goodness, I may be the worst blogger in the history of the intermewebs (as Will calls it). It's been over a year since I've been here. In my defense A LOT has happened in that year, the first of which was an infortunate incident with my computer requiring a whole new hard drive. Somehow when I redid my favorites, I never managed to put my blog back up. Whoops. Plus we had another baby and all of that. Here he is

Isn't he totally cute? And so handsome in his blue collared shirt? I have a crush <3 Big time.
Anyway, I remembered my blog recently when Audrey asked me to see some old pictures of herself. She loves looking at old pictures of herself. Well I couldn't find the ones I was looking for but then I remembered that I posted them here. It took me a minute to remember where the blog was, but then I did and here I am. I realized that even though almost no one reads my blog (why would they, I'm horrible at keeping up with it), the bits I have managed to put up here are a really nice way to chronical our life. My life, not so interesting, but I do like seeing Audrey when she was little. So maybe this time I'll really keep up with it. We'll see. And if there is anyone out there, leave me a comment so I know you're there. A little extra motivation couldn't hurt.
