Baby Gus is 3 months old today.  I can't believe how fast it goes.

Weekend

It was a pretty nice weekend around here.  Friday night we had Will's family over for dinner because Aunt Jennie, baby Leigh and Aunt Jackie were all in town.  I made chicken spaghetti again and it was a hit.  That stuff is pretty addicting.  Audrey had so much fun playing with baby Leigh.  She's walking now!

Then once everyone left, we walked over to the Balloon Glow in Forest Park.  We had never been before, and it was really cool.  Audrey's favorite balloon was the Werhenberg theater giant bag of popcorn balloon. We walked around for a while and saw as many balloons as we could.  We were so close we could feel the heat when they lit up the balloons.  But we had our huge stroller so negotiating the crowd was a bit of a problem.  Unfortunately there was no way to walk that far with both kids without it.

Tonight I made Sunday dinner.  I made beef stroganoff and the most delicious pumpkin spice muffins for dessert (I skipped the frosting because I was origionally going to make them for lunch, but they were still a great dessert w/out it).  Oh my goodness were they good.  I really do make lots of different recipes, not just ones from Pioneer Woman.  But her recipes are always our favorites so I haven't bothered posting about any of the other recipes.  Anyway, with the holidays coming up, I highly recommend these muffins.

First day of school

I'm a little bit late posting this.  Will's been working a lot lately and I've been too tired to blog in the evenings.

This was Audrey's first week of pre-school.  She is loving it so far.  Here are some pics of her first day.

Random stuff

I was going to call this picture "yikes, stripes."  That's what Will said when he saw it.  But lets face it, that doesn't really convey the true spirit of this outfit (which I wish I could blame on the 3 year old, but let's face it, she doesn't dress her brother).  I mean this outfit is a truely frighting combo of stripes and colors.  Yikes doesn't cut it.  Why did I do this to my child?  And why am I posting pics of it?  Because he is so handsome, he can pull it off.

(this seems like the appropriate response to being dressed like this)

Here's my handsome boy in a nicer outfit.  This is his sweater that Nana knit for him.  It was actually cool enough over the weekend for him to wear it.

And here's big sissy cuddling with Aunt Sam after she got her haircut.  Now she's all cleaned up for pre-school.  She starts next week!

Mid-week update

This beautiful guy decided our stained glass was a great place to hang out.  He was there all day on Tuesday.

Monday was a cloudy day around here.  We all slept in and hung around all day.  Audrey's new pre-school teachers stopped by to introduce themselves and show Audrey pictures of her classroom.  They both seemed nice and Audrey is so excited to start school on the 13th!

Tuesday we headed out to the Science Center.  Here's Audrey using (and sometimes misusing) a lot of sciency stuff.

And here's what Gus thought about the dinosaur noises coming from the lower level.  "They're going to get us Mama!"

After naps (and after I had already cooked dinner) we went to El Maguey with Grandma and Grandpa O.

Wednesday was another quiet day.  Not much happened.  But we did get to eat the dinner I made Tuesday night.  Oh my goodness was it good.  I made this recipe chicken spaghetti.  It was creamy and rich, time consuming to make, and probably horribly unhealthy but so delicious.  I can't wait to have it again tonight!
